Below you will find the details for each discipline.

If you are dancing in multiple classes in one night, please ensure you have the correct shoes, hair tied back, leotard (girls)/shirt (boys), and tights (girls)/shorts or pants (boys). You do not need to change tight colours between classes. These colours are required for recitals, though.

Proper dance wear enables the teacher to see the dancers' positions and movements in order to give necessary corrections for the benefit of the dancer's education. 

Dancers are welcome to purchase dance tights from whichever retailer they choose to wear to class. Based on final recital/competition costume selection, dancers may require different coloured tights to wear at recitals than what is listed below. We do encourage families to purchase tights through our supplier, who is providing high-quality dance tights at a great price. Not only will you spend less on these tights than most other dance tights, it will also mean that each dance class will have a more consistent look on stage.

• Boogie Babies:

  • Pink ballet shoes, ballet pink tights, any colour ballet dress or leotard/skirt (preferably black).

  • Boys: Black shorts or pants, white shirt (tank or short sleeved), and black ballet shoes or black gymnastic slipper.

• Mini Movers:

  • Pink ballet shoes, pink tights, any colour ballet dress or leotard/skirt (preferably black).

  • Boys: Black shorts or pants, white shirt (tank or short sleeved), and black ballet shoes or black gymnastic slipper.

• Tiny Tappers:

  • Shoes:

    • Patent leather tyette tap shoes

    • Each season the second dance discipline will be jazz or ballet. Once confirmed, dancers will need ballet pink shoes OR beige jazz shoes.

  • Tights:

    • Each season the second dance discipline will be jazz or ballet. Once confirmed, dancers will need ballet pink tights or beige tights

  • Any colour leotard (preferably black).

  • Boys: Black shorts or pants, white shirt (tank or short sleeved), and black ballet shoes or black gymnastic slipper.

• Acro/Kinder Acro:

• Any colour bodysuit (preferably black) and beige footless tights. Small shorts are permitted. Hair is to be in a low braid.

• Boys: Black shorts or pants, white shirt (tank or short sleeved).

• Please review the full Acro dress code here to ensure your dancer is set up to be safe.

• Jazz:

  • 5+: Any colour leotard (preferably black), beige tights, and tan jazz shoes. Small black shorts are permitted. Hair is to be tied back.

  • Boys: Black shorts or pants, white shirt (tank or short sleeved), and black jazz shoe.

• Tap:

  • Any colour leotard (preferably black) and beige tights. Small black shorts are permitted. Hair is to be tied back, in a bun or french braid(s). Please note that another colour may be required for year end costumes based on costume options.

  • Shoes

    • Tiny Tappers - 7 year olds: patent tyettes tap shoes.

    • 8+: black leather lace up tap shoes (may be split sole).

  • Boys: Black shorts or pants, white shirt (tank or short sleeved), and black lace up tap shoes.

• Ballet:

  • Any colour leotard (preferably black), ballet pink tights, pink ballet shoes (leather and full sole is preferred but not mandatory for recreational students. Full sole promotes the dancer to work their arches more and ensure strong pointed toes), and ballet skirt if the dancer chooses. Hair is to be in a bun (does not need to be perfect for class), or secured off face, if short.

  • Boys: Black shorts or pants, white shirt (tank or short sleeved), and black ballet shoes or black gymnastic slippers.

• Pointe:

  • Any colour leotard (preferably black), ballet pink tights, pointe shoes, and ballet skirt if the dancer chooses. Hair is to be in a bun, or secured off face, if short.

• Hip Hop & Breakdance:

  • Students may choose whatever active wear they like as long as it's not restricting to movement (eg. jeans) and is not distracting to the dancer (eg. loose shirts that get in the way). Clean, indoor running shoes or hip hop boots/shoes. No shoes worn outside will be permitted in the studio. Hats encouraged. Hair must be off the face.

• Lyrical / Musical Theatre:

  • Students may wear any dance clothing in these classes. This includes leotards (preferably black), leggings, tights, shorts, fitted tank top that will not rise up with movement as this is distracting to the dancer. Foot undies, dance performance approved socks, or bare feet for all classes, except Musical Theatre which require tan jazz shoes. Hair must be off the face in any style of the dancer’s choosing.
